This aerial panorama of the University of Wisconsin at Madison was photographed by James Blakeway. The view provides perspective of the unique and beautiful setting that surrounds the University campus, sitting on the shores of Lake Mendota and nearby Lake Monona. For sports fans, no visit to the campus is complete without a trip to Camp Randall Stadium™. The Badger football team has played here each fall since 1917, but the stadium received its name because it lies on the grounds of Camp Randall, a former Union Army training camp during the Civil War. Nearby is the Kohl Center™, home of Badger basketball, wrestling and hockey.
