Shocker fans came dressed for the first three-color stripe-out to celebrate the start of a new era and cheer on their Wichita State™ men's basketball team, as they handily defeated the Houston Cougars™ 81-63 in their inaugural home opener in the American Athletic Conference. A capacity crowd of 10,506 fans filled Charles Koch Arena at this nationally televised event. The move to the AAC™ was seen as beneficial to both the conference and team, as it adds a perennial national contender to the American Athletic Conference, raising its basketball profile.
