Denali, formerly Mount McKinley, is located in Southcentral Alaska among the vast and beautiful wilderness of Denali National Park and Preserve. It is the highest mountain in North America at 20,310 feet above sea level and the third most prominent peak of the Seven Summits, the highest mountains on each of the seven continents. Its rugged terrain has long been the allure to the adventurous mountaineers who have scaled its snow-covered peaks. This magnificent mass, consisting of towering peaks and giant glaciers, is the midsection of a vast twisting cordillera that winds from the Aleutian Islands to the Alaska-Yukon border.
